New Indian Motorcycle Elite models: Pursuit and Chieftain
The all new Indian Motorcycle Pursuit Elite and Chieftain Elite models for 2023 have just been released and, let me tell you, they are great.
We are talking about upgraded versions of the standard models redressed in custom paint schemes and equipped with premium parts from the factory.
Of course, production will be in limited numbers: 150 for the Pursuit and 175 for the Chieftain. Let’s see the details.
Pursuit Elite
2023 marks the debut of the all new Indian Motorcycle Pursuit Elite. As we mentioned before, this capable and refined touring machine will be only available in 150 unit worldwide. Equipped with premium amenities and advanced ride-enhancing technology, this motorcycle is engineered to deliver unparalleled comfort and performance for riders that value the journey as much as the destination.
The engine installed on this Pursuit is the PowerPlus: a 1768cc, liquid-cooled motor capable of delivering 90Kw of power and 178Nm of raw torque. Of course it has all modern electronic witchcraft, read cylinder deactivation included.
Electronics that are an important part of the chassis too. The Pursuit Elite is equipped with electronically adjustable rear suspension preload from Fox® that allows riders to adjust their preload for optimal comfort and handling under varying conditions. Whether riding solo, two-up or carrying more cargo – the electronically adjustable rear suspension preload is managed from the convenience of the motorcycle’s infotainment system. Plus, the Indian Pursuit Elite offers Smart Lean Technology using a Bosch®Inertial Measurement Unit to tune traction control, ABS, and torque for even more control and handling.
It’s not all: each Indian Pursuit Elite is equipped with a seven-inch touchscreen powered by RIDE COMMAND and offers Apple CarPlay® integration, turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth® connectivity, while built-in amplifiers, a 9-band equalizer, and 16 speakers provide crystal clear sound at any speed.
Chieftain Elite
With only 175 units available worldwide the all new Indian Motorcycle Chieftain Elite features meaner and more aggressive styling with custom-inspired details straight from the factory.
Offering an even more custom look, the Chieftain Elite sports a new 10-spoke precision machined front wheel, standard Adaptive Pathfinder LED headlight and rear saddlebag LED lights that provide a head-turning style at night.
Equipped with the most powerful Indian Motorcycle air-cooled engine, the Thunderstroke 116, the Chieftain Elite delivers 171 Nm of torque. As we could expect from a 2023 premium motorcycle, engine has rear cylinder deactivation, and can be managed by three selectable ride modes, including Tour, Standard and Sport.
Like the Indian Pursuit Elite, the Chieftain Elite features a seven-inch touchscreen display powered by RIDE COMMAND with Apple CarPlay®, GPS with navigation, an integrated PowerBand audio system, and includes ABS, keyless ignition, tyre pressure monitoring, as well as weatherproof and remote-locking saddlebags with more than 68 litres of storage. Everything topped with an adjustable tinted flare windshield raises or lowers to the rider’s preferred position with the push of a handlebar-mounted button for ultimate comfort.
New Indian Motorcycle Elite Models: our conclusions
The all new Indian Motorcycle Elite models were built for a reason: battle for the crown of the exclusive motorcycle segment with Harley-Davidson CVO models.
I truly believe that is is challenging to raise the bar every year and, to b absolutely honest, I am amazed of the job carried out by both companies year after year.
