Harley Davidson Low Rider S 2020: engine, frame and technology
Harley-Davidson chose to equip the all new 2020 Low Rider S with the line-up most powerful engine: Milwaukee-Eight 114 (1868cc), a V-Twin capable of 93 HP, for a max torque of 155 Nm at 3.000 rpm. An open air filter with a gloss black cap and a 2 in 2 set of exhaust complete this very competitive bundle put together by Harley. The frame design has been modified to optimize its weight. A step toward agility is also visible in the steering head angle: it is now of 28°, a huge difference from the 30° of the standard Low Rider and the 32° of the old S model. A upside down fork and an adjustable rear shock definitely give away the 2020 Low Rider S nature. The new brakes are very, very reliable. The front double disk is reliable and modular, the ABS is stock on this version, which is a plus, at least for me. I really enjoy it on other models, so I am glad to see it on this model.
HD Connect gives riders full connectivity through the use of a cellphone. Thanks to a subscription is possible to fully control your motorcycle using the Harley-Davidson app. This app includes: stolen vehicle assistance, remote connection to control the immobilizer, fuel consumption stats and maintenance status. Reflex Defensive Rider Systems (RDRS) a system that allows to manage your vehicle traction control, ABS and engine mapping.
Low Rider S: style
All trims are black on the new Low Rider S. Polished and matte details give this motorcycle an aggressive look. The engine and the tank panel are in Wrinkle Black, while the clutch cover, the engine heads and the filter cap are Gloss Black. Harley Davidson opted for jet black exhausts and for matte black fork, risers and handlebars. icening on the cake is the LED back light with smoked lens. The tank has the iconic Harley-Davidson graphic in contrast with the model color. I am digging the black one with bronze rims and bronze Harley graphics.
First ride feelings
There is nothing much to say: this motorcycle is sensational! Fun to ride on bendy roads thanks to its light frame and the steering head new angle. Sturdiness and quality can be felt right away, Harley Davidson really did step up its game. All that sturdiness takes its tool on the scale… Its 300kg make it a bit heavy compared to other models but, dynamically, it is almost unnoticeable. The frame really does its work perfectly and the engine is simply sensational. Cannot wait to try it and hear it sing with a new exhaust system and a couple of power vision tweaks. Is clear that this Low Rider S prefers open roads and mountain passes to the more boring and packed urban streets.
