2023 Motorcycles: Harley-Davidson and Indian
The year has just begun and Harley-Davidson & Indian already unveiled their 2023 Motorcycles line-ups. Both brands updated some of their models and added new motorcycles to their line-ups. Let’s see what both brands did.
2023 Motorcycles: Harley Davidson
Harley-Davidson really went the extra mile this year. To be absolutely honest, it is fair. This year is their 120th Anniversary and they wanted to do something special with their 2023 Motorcycles. They introduced an Anniversary paint job for some models in limited units:
- CVO Road Glide Limited Anniversary (1500 units)
- Ultra Limited Anniversary (1300 units)
- Tri Glide Ultra Anniversary (1100 units)
- Street Glide Special Anniversary (1600 units)
- Road Glide Special Anniversary (1600 units)
- Fat Boy 114 Anniversary (3000 units)
- Heritage Classic Anniversary (1700 units)
Then, since they love their crowd so much, they decided to bring back the Breakout and to come up with the Nightster Special.
Harley Davidson Breakout 117
As we said, Harley Davidson went the extra mile for all of us. The new Breakout proves that just right. This model is now equipped with the most powerful unit produced by Harley-Davidson at the moment: the Milwaukee-Eight 117 equipped with the Heavy Breather air filter. That is not the only new thing on this motorcycle, in fact, it is equipped with a 5 gallons tank, and new risers that are 1 inch taller than before.
The motorcycle is also equipped with new fenders, new blinkers, new exhaust thermic shields, new chromed mirrors, and new wheels.
On paper, this motorcycle is awesome!
Harley Davidson Nightster Special
Everyone was waiting for it, and Harley-Davidson delivered. The new Nighster Special shares the same structural philosophy of the Nightster: it is equipped with the liquid cooled V-Twin Revolution Max 975T, placed at the center of the frame.
Beside an additional seat and set of pegs for the passenger, this motorcycle is equipped with aluminum wheels with tire pressure sensor and a 4” FTF screen on which is possible to manage all the options this incredible system is capable of: Bluetooth connection, navigation, gauges and so on. Navigation is handled by an Harley-Davidson app for iOS and Android system: when active, it allows to choose between turn-to-turn navigation and a moving ma; everything supported by sound played directly in your year piece (if you have one linked). The Sportster Special is also equipped with a 3.1 gal tank, cruise control, a usb port and 5 maps: Road, Sport, Rain, and two customizable ones.
Accordingly to Jochen Zeitz – President and CEO of Harley Davidson – this is just the tip of the iceberg: Harley-Davidson is supposed to present other 2023 motorcycles throughout the year.
2023 Motorcycles: Indian
For its 2023 motorcycles Indian brought a large numbers of updates, completely revolutionized the FTR line-up and introduced the Challenger Elite. Not bad at all!
Let’s check all the details.
FTR models
Nobody will say it better than Mike Dougherty (President for Indian Motorcycle): “Fully loaded with models and styles for the widest range of riders, the 2023 lineup is a powerful testament to our team’s relentless effort to build and refine a truly comprehensive product offering over the past nine years. This effort has been focused across the line and within each model lineup, as evidenced by the introduction of the FTR Sport – the addition of which creates four unique FTR offerings, each with its own style and personality.”
Four unique offerings: the all new FTR Sport – which replaces the FTR S – sits just below the premium FTR R Carbon, but above the FTR and FTR Rally, creating four distinct trim models for riders to choose from.
The FTR Sport, FTR Rally and FTR R Carbon rock:
- a 101 mm round touchscreen display powered by RIDE COMMAND, featuring navigation.
- Three ride modes (Sport, Standard, Rain)
- Lean Angle Sensitive Stability Control
- ABS
The FTR R Carbon separates itself as the premium offering with carbon fibre components, premium seat, fully adjustable Öhlins gold front forks and a gold piggyback shock.
Indian Challenger Elite
For riders looking for something more exclusive Indian offers a line composed of only 150 Indian Challenger Elite 2023 motorcycles.
