Sturgis Motorcycle Rally: one of the most important rallies in the world
We have just left Daytona Bike Week behind: Florida was not so sunny this year, however, thousands of bikers riding on their motorcycles rode into the city to enjoy the event.

It is the right time of the year to start talking about the most iconic rally in the world: Sturgis Motorcycle Rally that takes place in Sturgis, South Dakota.
For this event – attended by an incredible number of bikers from all over the world, and tourists that with their RV want to be part of the Fest – the city of Sturgis completely transforms itself into a biker Luna Park: the two main roads, Main and Lazelle, are filled by influent personalities and incredible custom works.
Outside Sturgis, a lot of breathtaking rides await you.
Sturgis Motorcycle Rally: history
Sturgis Motorcycle Rally was born in the good ol’ days when in 1938 an MC decided to organize races and stunts in Sturgis.
The founder of the event is Clarence “Pappy” Hoel who bought an Indian Motorcycle Dealership in ’36 and who later organized the Jackpin Gypsies and the first events.
The great change for Sturgis Motorcycle Rally happened in 1961 with the introduction of Hillclimb and Motocross competitions.
With the years passing by, the event grew bigger and bigger until reaching an International fame with participants coming from all over the world. For a lot of years, the rally took place during the first week of August but, from August 2016, the event stretched its duration to 10 days. More fun!
Fun fact: in 2015 the rally reached its record of 700.000m bikers
Why is it worth going?
Simple: because during the 10 days of the event you will enjoy the company of your road buddies, you will meet new bikers and you will be able to see the most incredible bikes ever.
Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is motorcycles, events, concerts and motorcycle rides surrounded by overwhelming sights.
Sturgis events are usually the best. The complete list of names is not out yet but if “all’s well that starts well”, we can only expect great things from Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 2022. The names at the moment are: Snoop Dog, Buckcherry, Bush, Rob Zombie, Travis Tritt, Aaron Lewis, Pop Evil e Pain Killers.
Living Sturgis does not only mean staying in the city for the whole duration of the event. What makes this rally unique is the possibility of riding around and enjoys routes like: Mount Rushmore Loop, Bear Butte and Badlands, Devil’s Tower Loop, Needles & Crazy Horse Loop e lo Spearfish Canyon Loop.
