Motorcycle TV Shows: the best of the best

Temperatures are not quite there yet so, why not spending some time watching motorcycle tv shows? Here some that are worth watching.

Sons of Anarchy

I know, I know. This show is old as hell. However, it is one of the most popular TV shows in the world, with or without the motorcycles. The motorcycle-themed drama lasted for seven seasons (2008-2014). No spoilers here so I will keep it minimal: the show is based around the lives of a group of outlaw motorcyclists and explores a number of themes common within real-life motorcycle club culture. A result also achieved thanks to the technical advice of ex-Hells Angels member, David Labrava. If you haven’t watched it yet, you should give it a try.

Mayans M.C

For those who watched Sons of Anarchy, Mayans M.C. is a must see. This is not just one of the motorcycle tv shows available to watch. It takes place four years after the end of Sons of Anarchy and incorporates some of the same characters and themes. In fact, the ending of season one had a major twist with regards to Sons of Anarchy, leaving fans overjoyed. Overall, the show received positive reviews and was favored among motorcycling enthusiasts who were upset with the ending of the more popular Sons of Anarchy. Let’s face it, there aren’t that many TV dramas that focus solely on the motorcycling world.

Motorcycle Tv shows: Ride with Norman Reedus

Norman Reedus is a legend. If you do not know him, here is a bit of background knowledge for you: he is one of the most likable guys in Hollywood and is mostly famed for his starring role as Daryl Dixon in The Walking Dead (best zombie apocalypse series ever, but that is a whole another thread). That being said, Reedus is a huge motorcycle enthusiast, and he has his own show: Ride with Norman Reedus. The series -aired on AMC – follows Reedus and his motorcycle throughout a number of different destinations all while checking out the local motorcycling culture. Motorcycling legend Peter Fonda loved the show so much he wanted to starr in it (no spoilers, I am just going to tell you that it is in the first series). Definitely a must see.

Long Way Round

Along with “Long Way Down” and “Long Way Up”, “Long Way Round” is one of the best adventure motorcycle tv shows I’ve ever watched. Released in 2004, the show documents the epic 19,000-mile (31,000 km) journey from London to New York City that award-winning actor Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman took on two BMW Motorcycles. The pair first traveled eastwards through Europe and Asia only to then fly to Alaska and then on to New York. All in all, McGregor and Boorman passed through a whopping twelve countries, from the UK to France to the Ukraine and Mongolia. Along the way, the pair suffered a few breakdowns, as well as accidents, with McGregor managing to spray gasoline into his eyes—not once, but twice. If you like this kind of shows, the other two chapter of the series are awesome to watch.

Harley and the Davidsons

If you are an H-D enthusiast, this is the TV-Show. Let’s face it, it is hard to find motorcycle tv shows about the story of a motorcycle brand. Harley-Davidson, as usual, found a great way to tell their story. Harley and the Davidsons is and American TV miniseries that aired in 2016 had a fair amount of success. It catches everyone’s attention because it tells the origins of legendary motorcycle manufacturer, and shows the friendship between Arthur Davidson, Walter Davidson, and William S. Harley. The script is based on actual events and the whole series is very appreciated because of the number of motorcycles from that particular era that is possible to see on the screen. As everything Harley-Davidson, it received some critics…To some, the dramatic aspects received a boost to make viewers emphasize more with the company.

Motorcycle Tv shows: Conclusions

These are the motorcycle tv shows I think are worth seeing in 2023. I hope you will like them and that we were able to suggest you something you haven’t watched yet.
