With a new purchase there always are new things to learn; things can get complicated especially if it needs to be installed on something. Usually instruction booklets are not really straightforward; filled with missunderstandable passages that would be difficult to follow even by the most expert of us. Here is, in a couple of steps, how to install a saddlebag on 2019 softail easily and safely on a motorcycle. If you are not accustomed with this kind of works, please contact an Harley Davidson shop.
How to install a saddlebag on a Softail: 2018/2019
- Remove all original fender bolts (To do so, on some models, is important to keep the fender back bracket in position)
- Place washers on the provided bolts and insert them into the bag holes
- Apply other two washers on the outside and place both spacers (The longer spacer needs to be placed on the bolt near the seat, and the shorter spacer needs to be placed on the bolt near the blinker)
On motorcycles equipped with detachable sissybar use the sissybar bushings instead of the provided spacers
- Place the bag on the original fender (Some models require you to hold the bracket in place)
- Tight both bolts and close the bag
Installation requires a supplied spacers on these models: Low Rider, Street Bob, Slim, Deluxe, Heritage, Fat Bob, Fat Boy, Breakout.
Saddlebags for Harley Davidson
When people talk about us, despite the fact that we handcraft a various number of products, they talk about our leather bags for motorcycles. Leather bags represent the very best of our production; products of which creation comes from the desire of satisfying a precise need: produce something functional, durable that can also please the eye thanks to an unmatched design. Ends Cuoio produces premium vegetable tanned leather saddlebags thanks to a meticulous choice of premium materials and thanks to the work of highly skilled leather artisans that every day are able to express their self creating fine products that represent the very best of Made in Italy.
All our leather bags are handcrafted using 100% Made in Italy vegetable tanned leather that is certified by the Genuine Italian Vegetable Tanned Leather Consortium, an institution that guarantees, with complete transparency, that leather origins and production cycle complies with the Tuscan Tanneries traditions. Vegetable tanning not only is 100% sustainable (for the tanning process, tanneries use tannins that directly come from trees) but also gives back a kind of leather that naturally ages depending on how it gets used and taken care of. In order to guarantee incredible quality and durability, all our bags are made using 4mm think leather sheets that, on some bags, can reach a maximum of 5mm.
Choices like this allow us to put on the market a product of absolute quality. That is why leather is not the only premium material used to handcraft our products: our sewing thread is ISO9001 certified and, depending on the model, all our bags have polyethylene, aluminum or iron reinforcements to guarabntee original shape retention over time. We will never cut margins on raw material quality because – as bikers our selves – our intention is to provide bikers with leather bags, seats and accessories that will last more than a season. We create travelling companions!
The key of our saddlebags success is the meticulous study of the motorcycle models for which our products are designed for. When creating a new backpanel with a cutout for the suspension, or when creating a new detachable systems, our experts and our Centro Stile – beside pushing the limits of the products already available on the market – study every detail of a given motorcycle model in order to provide the best installing and riding experience possible to our fellow biker. Attention to detail and a unique design that screams innovation are icing on an already perfect cake. Our experience in leather works, our studies and our innovative choices are the reason why we grew at the point of being well know all over the world.
